Croatia's national electricity company, Hrvatska Elektroprivreda (HEP Group), in collaboration with ADVA Optical Networking and regional partner ITeRATIO, has completed the country's first deployment of 100G technology. This deployment spans over 400 kilometers between the cities of Zagreb and Split, marking a significant upgrade from the previous 10G infrastructure and positioning Croatia at the forefront of high-speed optical networking in the region . The deployment utilizes the ADVA FSP 3000 platform, which allows for a cost-effective and rapid upgrade of existing optical networks to support 100G speeds. Testing with BERT, RFC 2544, and EXFO FTB-500 confirmed the network's enhanced capacity and performance, demonstrating the platform's ability to increase throughput while reducing the cost per bit of transmitted data .
